So I arrived in the states on an F-1 Visa. During my teens I had a name change to a western sounding name. I am from Asia(Not from the ME region). My passport on which I got my visa has my new name. No aliases were declared on my F-1 visa. Now I am married to a US citizen and we are filing for AOS. Do I need to declare my old name in the forms? I do not want to cause confusion/unnecessary questions. All my legal/ID documents and my fingerprints at the POE have been done in my new name.

Well technically I am the beneficiary of my USC wife.

On page 2 of Form I-485, Part 3. Processing Information, What will be your answer to the question, "In what status did you last enter?"

For a better understanding of this point, please read the pinned thread at the top of this forum page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/504257-general-faq-filing-for-adjustment-of-status/

Good luck on immigration journey.
