Green card delivered to wrong address.

USPS delivered my green card to my old address! They didn't even bother to confirm I was living there.

The status of my card is delivered.

I updated my address with USCIS before they produced the green card. It's their error.

Anyways, I phoned the guys living at my old address, and asked them to return the letter to the post office.

What's going to happen now when USCIS receives my card back?

I phoned 1-800-375-5283, the operator cannot give me any personal information by phone, so she cannot confirm the address on file. The only advice she gave me is to make an appointment in person.

Is there a way to tell USCIS to send the green card to my new address by phone?

Yes it seems they messed up the address but why didn't you ask the new residents to forward the letter with the card to you and then deal with the address change?

Did you complete a change of address with the post office so they can forward mail to your new address?

USPS does not forward USCIS mail, unfortunately. :/

Ooohhh dang. Well then I second your advice. lol Unless its across the country, I think I would've went and picked it up!

If you can't pick it up have them have it couriered to you and you incur the cost of having it sent.

Priority Date: July 24, 2007 (EAC)

AOS fee paid: February 2013

Request embassy change: May 2013

Son born: September 2013 (added to petition March 2014)

Interview: March 17, 2015 (Joint sponsor needed)

Joint sponsor documents submitted: April 27, 2015

Visas approved and issued: April 30, 2015. Had to return to embassy to do oath for son :)

My previous address was a Motel and the staff refused to forward the letter to me, they say they can only return to sender.

It's a complicated case. The Motel is in Orlando. I am in Europe at the moment, and the green card should have been sent to Tennessee.
