My fiancée scheduled her visa interview for October 20th. And she scheduled a month ago her medical exam for October 13th. But today the Doctor's secretary called to to cancel the medical appointment because the Doctor is sick. The Doctor cannot reschedule her before the 20th because everything is booked. There are only 2 other Doctors in Honduras authorized to give the medical exam. The three doctors have to be booked a month a head of time because they are always busy.

So that leaves my fiancée without a medical exam before the interview. Can we go to the interview without a medical exam or take the medical exam in the United States? Or will we have to reschedule the interview? What are are options at this point?

You can't take this medical exam in the U.S.

Under the circumstances, the consulate might allow you to interview and, assuming that all goes well with that, issue a 221(g) for the results of the medical exam. However, there might be a strict policy that the exam must take place before the interview.

1. Click "Embassy Info" (link atop any VJ page) to see if it yields information.

2. Contact the consulate with your quandary. Save copies of your correspondence with them.

Let us know what you learn.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Which of the three Dr was this? I have my interview next month, so I don't go there

@Alex_hn, Really sorry about the late reply, I've been busy with the paperwork for my interview since it's tomorrow. The doctor that canceled on me was Dr. Fernando Tomé. The one who took me instead was Dr. Edmundo del Carmen, he's really nice but his secretary is a very rude person, I mean, it'll do, but you'll have to put up with her mood swings for the entire process which is almost all morning. To be fair, Dr. Tomé's secretary was very helpful and she's the one who got Dr. Del Carmen to take us in instead so we wouldn't have troubles on our interviews. Don't even bother calling Dr. Elisa Carrasco's office, they never pick up the phone and on the rare occasion they do, she's never there and it seems like she only works a few days a week at most.

Let us know what you learn.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to have Dr. Del Carmen take me in instead so I avoided the hassle of finding out what was gonna happen if I didn't have the medical exam during the interview. I called the Embassy that day anyway just in case, and what they told me was to try as hard as I could to have one of the other 2 doctors take me in, otherwise, I was supposed to call back to inform them if I was able to schedule another day for the medical exam, and in that case they were going to re-schedule my appointment for a date after the medical exam. If even re-scheduling wasn't possible, then they said to go to the Interview anyway and then, if approved, they'd have allowed me to submit the medical exam results later on. I'm not sure how that was supposed to work, but that's what they told me. I kinda panicked at that thought so I contacted Dr. Tomé's secretary for a solution because I was nervous. Things turned out well at the end, but this will serve as info. if anyone is ever in this predicament. So, tomorrow's my interview, so, wish me luck! :content:

Thanks for replying. I'm glad the other dr could see you, i am stuck at this step. For me none of three places pick the phone when tried calling, tired of calling and spending money trying to contact either, and the time they've answer: Dr Tome's been sick and he's not seeing patients and who knows when will he. Dr Del Carmen will be on vacations from November to January(they told someone else that he had lost his licence, don't know what to make of that). With Dra Carrasco you need to go and do the blood work and then she will see you in 15 days for the physical, which I found out already to late, it wont be ready for my interview date. I actually had to get someone in Tegucigalpa to actually go to the Drs offices in person because they never answered the phone. NOW I'm in predicament. I can't just leave right now to Honduras. Ugh! Don't know what to do ?

Good luck :)

He has an interview at the Tegucigalpa honduras embassy on November 30th. He set up an a a month ago with the medical examiner Fernando tome on Wednesday November 25th. His secretary called us this morning and cancelled his appointment. Now what do we do? The other only clinic available doesn't answer their phones and they give you your medical exam within 15 days.

What can we do please help

Will the embassy still interview my husband even though he doesn't have his sealed exam packet?

Please help we leave to honduras on Friday November 20th

I believe you husband can still have the interview without the medical exam, call the embassy to make sure of that, i had my interview November 10th, the only Dr available right now is Dra Carrasco and yes she takes 15 days to see you(after lab work is done)so if he is able to have the interview without the medical exam done, my guess is the visa won't be approved until he gets the medical exam done and bring it to the embassy. Hope everything comes out great! Blessings

We were referred to another doctor that will be getting approved by the embassy

Claudia Bravo from Tegucigalpa 011-504-2232-1188 she will be taking appointments starting December 1st 2015

So you think he can go to his interview without a medical exam packet? Did you reschedule your interview? If so how long did it take and did you have options of what day to pick?

How did your interview go? Were you approved right away? Did you take your sealed medical exam packet to your interview? And how long after did you receive your visa packet from cargo express? How many days after did you receive it?

Please help us learn from all your experiences

Thank you so much

Do you have any contact numbers from the embassy where I could potentially call?
