I haven't been able to get a sub at Subway with "sub sauce" . I just get a really strange look when I ask for it

I also haven't been able to find Tetley "round" teabags, except the odd specialty ones (earl grey, etc) Guess that's what I get when all they drink down there is cold tea :crying:

So, mine is Subway subsauce

Tetley "round" teabags

I don't think I'll miss the bag milked so much, lol

Oh yeah

REAL " Molson Canadian"

yeah, I miss that too.... but last time I was in Canada I bought a 72 bag box of round Tetley Tea Bags

PLease, please, please..Leave your bagged milk in Canada...

I lived in Saskatchewan for 26 years and never saw ONE bag of milk. Maybe it's unique to Ontario?

Carla (F)

Spent ages 0 to 19 and 21 to 22 in Saskabush...Weyburn specifically. We had bagged milk off and on my whole life.

The mere thought of milk in a bag makes my yankee wife feel ill. So I *never* mention it.

One thing that really p*$$%$ me off....living in Iowa. It's one of I think 2 or 3 states that has laws restricting the import of anything labelled as "beer" with a.v. 6% of greater. And what I want to have sent to me most....happens to be 6% or over.I miss Unibroue's brews!!!! :crying:

I seriously need to look into what I can ship back here when I get back to Sask for a visit. I'm thirsty.

I haven't seen it posted here, so for anyone who hasn't seen it yet:

Kraft peanut butter (has to be in 1L container)

Tim Hortons...so what if they've expanded into Michigan and parts of Ohio...still ONLY Canadian in my heart!

I am going to venture off the Grocery List and go with HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA!!

Hahaha...too much fun!

While I'm not the Canadian in the relationship, I do know that butter tarts are from up north, thanks to wikipedia. Oh, Canadian Bacon, which you all call ham. ;)

actually, we call it back bacon, or peameal bacon. Ham is something else entirely.

Shreddies! uniquely Canadian.

Bits 'n' Bites

Kraft Dinner (different from the US version Mac & Cheese)

Cinnamon Spread

crumpets are British too, and I can get them now at Ingles grocery store here in town. Frozen, but its better than nothing! And I found perogies the other day too, which I'd been looking for forever!

actually, Timmy's has over 200 US stores now in probably 8 states. They started in OH when they were bought by Wendy's corp, then spread out from there. Sadly, they still haven't ventured across the Mason/Dixon line down into Krispy Kreme home territory. The closest ones to me are either Kentucky or West Virginia, about 4 or more hours away :(

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

I think they call it Duck Sauce here rather than plum sauce. My husband bought some duck sauce the other day, I tried it and said "bleah, I don't like plum sauce :P "

restraunts use the duck sauce, but the plum and the duck sauce you can get in the oriental section in any grocery store. They are different, but guess most prefer the duck over the plum sauce with their out-to-eat chineese food...

I belive we had a pizza delight for awhile in Prince Albert Sk.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I got the following email/pic and thought of you!

In light of all that's happening in our world, sometimes we wonder if

there's a place we can feel truly safe and secure. There is one, and it's

I love this list! I know some of my most missed foods were mentioned already but these are what I want the most right now!

McCain International Pizza

Skor bars

Ketchup and All Dressed chips

Poutine

Cheese Curds

Cheeze Whiz…oh my gosh I miss this. I can’t find it anywhere and I just stopped asking because every time I do the people are like “oh cheese in a can” and I’m like “no that’s disgusting”

I really miss Harvey’s too and of course Tim Hortons and Kelseys.

I never really thought much about the milk in a bag. I know you can’t get it here but it hasn’t really bothered me.

This is a great thread but it makes me miss home lol.

i saw Skor Bars here in LA, California at Albertsons......

Skor is a slim candy bar produced by The Hershey Company. It was first marketed in US in 1981 and later launched in Canada in 1983.
