I'm drafting a letter to request the employment verification letter from my job that I'm going to need for the NVC stage. I'm filing CR-1. When I asked them for it when I needed it for our K-1 they were butt heads and said no. It wasn't until I sent them a print out of instructions that said it was suppose to be on company letterhead, signed, include dates of hire, position, etc. that they finally provided the letter. So I'm going to send that to them again but I can't find it. I even googled it. Maybe I'm a little brain numb right now, I've been working on our immigration stuff. Does anyone have a link to something that shows I'm REQUIRED to submit this letter and HOW it's suppose to be written? Thank you.

Here are two examples.

While a letter will help it is not require. My company told me they do not provide employment letter and if I need one I will have to go to a website HR gave me. I just sent in copies of my paycheck stubs. I had no problems

I'm looking at the instructions now...I don't see anything about it. I need the letter because Lagos embassy is tough. I wish I could remember where I found it before,. If they see something in writing they will give me the letter. Thanks dwheels. I know what the letter. will look like. I'm trying to show my employer that the gov is asking me for it.

An employer should never give you that much trouble getting a simple letter stating when you were hired on company letterhead. I really hope this helps you and good luck.

You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that

submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You are not required to submit this

evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to do so by a U.S. Government official. For example, you may include

a recent letter from your employer, showing your employers address and telephone number, and indicating your annual

salary. You may also provide pay stubs showing your income for the previous six months. If your claimed income

includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income, or income from any other source, you may also include

evidence of that income.

Yeah, our company is run by two lawyers (no offense intended) and they don't care much about the labor side of their people. It's like they are afraid to admit anything. Like I'll use it against them. But I don't deal with them much. I travel with a crew. And the crew is tight like family. Thanks again.
