I promised to post my interview experience so here it is. ..

I got to the embassy at 6:30 for my 6:45 appointment, there was already a sort of long line. ..We went through security check.they took my electronics and gave me a card to pick it after interview.

I went in and was given a number, mine was C427.

After this I waited outside and waited for my number to be called, btw dress warmly it's freezing in there since you sit outside in big umbrella thing .After like half hour I was called in and a lady asked for my passport, birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support (minus supporting documents), mrv receipt , ds 160 confirmation page...asked me same questions that were on the ds 160 application

then she asked to wait outside again for my number to be called. ..asked free like an hour I was called back in for fingerprinting.

An hour and half later the interview itself. my CO was a nice man looked like in his thirties, bald like my fiance, lol

he said good morning and asked to raise my right hand and swear. .then asked me these questions

1.who is Adam to you

2.when and how did you meet?

3.when did you meet physically

4.what are your wedding plans

5.how old is Adam? how old are you?

6.how many times was he married before?

7.have you been married before?

8.how did your family react to you marrying a bald white man, lol...He laughed

9.why didn't you just marry here in Kenya

then asked for photos and I gave him a scrapbook I had made of a timeline of our relationship. He was very impressed, even called one of his colleagues and said, look at this, these are sort of photos one sends in for petition, photos that tell a story. ..He then said I am going to approve your visa. ..gave me green slip with congratulations and instructions on how to track my visa. said I will have in 2 to 5 days and to check online for it.

He wished me a good day , said congratulations again and gave me a pamphlet on domestic violence

I wasn't asked for any chats although I had carried printed out screen shots of our conversations. The scanned affidavit of support was accepted and never once was a question raised about it.

It was generally a good experience except the freezing cold despite it being 23rd of September (isn't sun meant to be overhead or something, lol) I thought it would be hot...haha, anyway...I hope this helps anyone who has questions about the process.

visa journey helped me with so much info, it would be a blessing to be helpful in some way.

Just waiting for the rest of process to unfold now, the hard part is over now, all glory to God.

btw, I think all consulates are unique with their own rules and the consular officer is the person you need to convince. ..

piece of advice, be very confident, smile and organised...All will be well.
