hi all,

I really need some insight on my case. I got married to an amazing person(US Citizen). We had a great life until recently.

She changed a lot and turned out to have a major mental disorder. She started acting strange and wanted to separate. The she did not want to work on fixing the marriage and said counselling is too hard for her as she is sick. But i feel like it was also a personal choice her.

It got me very sick and now I am also in therapy for treatment of the anxiety it caused me.

Long story short, I filed for divorce. And after months in court we settled to finalize divorce in November. I am currently on the Conditional Green Card. She wanted me to stay married to her and her help me with my situation, but I really could not accept this situation.

My question now is, can I file for a divorce waiver on my own. We dont have any kids. She is still on my insurance and am still paying her rent.

Every one tells me get a lawyer, but they are very expensive, Like 3000 to 4000$.

May you please help me with some good sound advice?

And has any one been successful apply for a divorce waiverr on their own?

Thank you soo much.

Yes you can.

File with a divorce waiver. No lawyer needed.

all these are considered divorce waivers. So, which are you asking about? In Alabama the waiver fee is $149 when she doesn't sign the papers. And the form is online for you to print out and fill in and file. All this information is online for you

Waivers of many kinds are often used in the law. In a divorce case, a divorce waiver may refer to a fee waiver, a waiver of service, or a waiver of the final hearing. As with all documents involved in a divorce case, a divorce waiver must be filed with the court and will become an official part of the court record.

One type of divorce waiver that may be applied for in a divorce proceeding is a fee waiver. When a petitioner, or person filing the divorce, does not have the funds the pay the filing fee, many jurisdictions allow him or her to apply for a fee waiver. The court may request proof of the applicant's financial situation before making a decision as to whether or not to approve the waiver. If the court does approve the waiver, then the petitioner will be allowed to file the petition for divorce without paying the required filing fee.

I think the OP is meaning removing conditions on his conditional green card with a divorce waiver for the conditions, nothing to do with the filing of the actual divorce paperwork.

If that's the case, as long as the OP can prove that the marriage was a bona fide marriage, which it sounds like it was, then yes, he can file for removal of conditions based on the divorce.

This is how I read it as well. It's about the Removal Of Conditions divorce waiver for their green card, not the divorce petition.
