Hi. I'm the US sponsor of a fiance visa. I am self employed and business makes money but doesn't net much for tax purposes - less than $10k in 2014 after expenses.

I do have about $250,000 in securities (stocks and mutual funds) though.

How much will my income be weighted against my securities? I could easily support the both of us (no kids) with this money for many years if needed.

Thanks.

It would be based on your personal income, not the business income. So, line 22 of the 1040. Some people take less expenses so that the Total Income amount meets the requirement.

If using assets, they need to be able to be liquefied within a year without hardships. Show proof of ownership and amount of assets. The I-864 instructions explain use of assets, so you may want to read those, even when using the I-134 for the K-1. You will need the I-864 soon for AOS anyway.
