I called USCIS to inquire on my status of my wifes AP, AOS, and EAP. Checks were cashed 5 weeks ago and I have no notice.

I was told to use the MSC code +10 digits to get an update. Unfortunately all systems are down. I can't add a record. I was also told by someone who new next to nothing that she could find no record. When I went one step up the chain, I was told that I could receive no help because all the systems were down.

My concern is that I need to change our mail notification address and have no way to do so. Do I just keep trying everyday?

I have my checks back in hand and stamped on the back with the appropriate case numbers. I am hoping all those numbers are correct and will do me good because so far nobody is able to help.

Has anyone else encountered problems simply trying to chance their mailing address? Also can it be done online? And does anyone know for sure if they are using MSC as the prefix to the 10 digit number?

Thanks

Tim

Being a bit dramatic aren't we? ;)

You need to file AR-11 if you're changing address. Online here:

Sadly its not always true. The MSC numbers on the backs of checks are often close to the case numbers, rather than being the actual case numbers. In my case I had to add 2-3 to the last number on the check to get my actual case number.

The problem is that I can't change the address on line and I can't change the address on the internet. I don't need to file an AR-11. Our physical address has never changed. We are in the same house at the same address. Only our mail address has changed. The system has been down for 5 days. What kind of people do they employ? I can't find my case number or anything through them. She finds all my information, but won't tell me the petitioner or my wife, the applicant anything.

Thanks for nothing USCIS.

Thanks for nothing USCIS.

Regardless of whether your have moved, if your mailing address has changed you need to file AR-11.

You just began this process. There is no reason to freak out about something so minor in such a short period of time. You only filed about a month ago. I am sure your mailman will keep your mail straight if you live in the same house and only the number changed. If you knew this was going to hapeen why didn't you just wait to file until you had a stable reliable mailing address. It seems to me like you have caused the problem, not the USCIS.
