So my wife got her K-3 Visa on 10/19/06 and came to the U.S. on 11/30/06. We decided to file her Authoraztion for employment first, then file the AOS after we received the Employment card. Was it a bad idea to wait to file the AOS?? Or is the route I took ok?? Also, on the K-3 Visa, it says something along the lines of "this is related to a petition ending 2/28/07." We would like to know what that means...any help or input would be great!

Thanks in advance!

One more question.... Is there a certain amount of time one must file the AOS if they have a K3 Visa? The Visa itself is valid for 2 years. Please let me know,

Thank you!

From what I have been learning here- To file EAD first and seperate from AOS is a better way to go. The EAD is good for a longer period of time.

I would file for AOS soon. The prices are going up this year.

For me I applied EAD first so i can work I have a 2 yrs visa and multiple re-entry I will do my AOS after our 2nd wedding year anniversary. I got my EAD approved 107 days since i applied. I do not care if the price is getting high this year but I will wait till our second year anniversary.

I applied for EAD first, then a few months later (when we had the money) I applied for AOS.

You just need to apply for AOS before the K3 expires is all.
