Medical Exam - Any Revent Experience

Anyone recently done the medical exam who can walk us through the process and what to expect?

We had the medical examination at Cho Ray in HCMC.

Walked in and gave the necessary paperwork:

1. copy of interview appointment.

2. copy of passport.

3. 4 4x6 photos of the person getting interviewed.

4. payment of $155 (USD OR VND)

She had her medical exam completed in about 2 hours?

From there we went straight to the Vaccination place.

There are 4 windows.

Window 1 is to fill paperwork.

Window 2 is to check what vaccines you have had or haven't (bring all your vaccination records with you)

Window 3 is to pay fees.

Window 4 is to get any needed vaccinations.

They will call you by name to each window. Once you've visited all four windows, you just wait until they give you a yellow sheet of paper which you take back to the medical examination facility.

You can basically do this all in a day. After that they'll tell you how many days you can come back to Cho Ray to pick up the SEALED envelope which you take to the interview.

Jtruong - can you explain what they actually did during the medical exam?

Weighed her.

Took her blood.

Asked questions about her general health.

X-Ray for any issues specifically TB.

It was quick.

I guess she will find out tomorrow for sure. I was hoping she wouldn't have to go through that but sounds routine. (Tats/birthmarks is what her friend said)

My wife had her physical today and her main comment was that she spent more time waiting then the actual exam. Arrived 730 and there Til 1030. Drop appt letter and yellow sheet from Quarantne service stating they ran out of vaccination Til middle of Oct.

Stripped down to underwear - dr was male and female nurse was present.

Medical history taken

Eye exam

Height/Weight

Listen heart/Lungs

Blood sample

Urine sample

Then they say her sealed medical packet will be ready before 4pm. No comment on Quarantine service running out of vaccinations so I tend to think this happens all the time and not an issue.

So you can go to quarantine service before the exam? This could save another trip to exam place. Did she went to IOM or Cho Ray ?

IOM

Yes - you can go Quarantine before exam. She called and asked. However apart from MMR - no other additional vaccines Til mid October.

Naked for exam? That must be new because my then-fiancee went to IOM and they gave her a gown to put on. She did not have to strip down or anything.

IOM gave her a gown and think she stripped down to her panties only. I'll have to ask again to be sure.

Also of interest they take the photos at IOM.

My wife just did this the day after our P4 letter. She recommend not go to Cho Ray because she heard that place is filt with people who only care about coffee money. She went to the other place and she recommend it because of their professionalism. She got there at 7ish and filled out the paperwork (bring your own pen) and got a waiting ticket #2. I know, lucky right. People were still there using a pen that provided to them so not only you have to wait inline, you have to wait for the people infront of you to finish, so bring your own pen. She got in, did her check ups, went and got shots, and was the last one to finish everything before their lunch break at 11:30. However, she has to go back there on monday to get the result though.
