Hey all,

i'm currently in the usa on the VWP and have been recently married, i will be filing all adjustment of status forms concurrently next week.

I was wondering if anyone could help me answer a question about the sponsor income requirements?

My wife has got very limited paid work experience and her tax returns will not meet the sponsors minimum requirements, she has however had a regular trust / family payment direct to her bank accounts for the last 5+ years that will easily exceed the minimum income requirements.

Is it possible to show this as evidence of income in the form of bank statements despite it not being an official tax return?

Effectively my question is does the proof of income have to be in the form of earnings / taxable income or is regular bank deposits from family / trust sufficient evidence of income?

My thought was joint sponsor, but if he has investments in a trust which produces income for her than that should also be possible, she will have the trust documents, statements showing current value, and if income bearing the rate of return.
