This is the question that comes just come up when I was trying to fill up my DS260... "Are you a former exchange visitor (J) who has not yet fulfilled the two-year foreign residence requirement?"

Now, I feel so stupid not realising this, i was previously an au pair in the USA i returned to my home country UK in November last year, I married my spouse before returning and we filled the 130 whilst i was in the UK. now, ive just come across this question and im freaking out! I havent been out of the states that long, I read online I may have to file a waiver but it seems like it doesnt apply to me.... Can anyone give some advice on this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my passport has my formal J1 visa in it and does not say im subject to the two year rule... But I've heard Au Pairs talk about this before... Thanks so much, its so much appreciated if anyone can help me....

I previously had a J1 visa and it clearly states "212 E Two year rule applies". Sounds like if this is not printed on your visa, you may not be obliged to serve 2 years. And just an FYI, this 2 year period has to be in your home country and not just outside USA, which in your case is UK.
