Medical to Consulate

How long does it take for the medical results to be sent to the consulate? And then how many days until visa is issued?

They recommend you have medical 2-3 weeks before interview appointment at the consulate- unless you are outside of NSW. From what I've read if approved on the spot they usually say you will have your visa in 2 weeks.

Above relates to K1- I don't know if it's different for spouse visa?

My medical results took just a few days (maybe three) and then I received my visa two weeks exactly after my interview, but they said they had a small tech glitch again after the big one in June so that's why it took two weeks, I've heard it usually is about one.

Thanks! They were sent directly to the consulate or you had to pick up?

I did mine through Medibank and they sent them directly to the consulate

Pretty sure both places do but just give them a call or ask

Looks like George St is the only approved medical surgery now.

I know from experience and from reading others posts that they put you on a waiting list, then call you back for an appointment when one is available.

That's why I went to Medibank, it wasn't as busy.

If they're the only ones now I would call ASAP and book in so it gives a bit of time for them to call you back

Why do you say that? If you go on http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare/medical-examination.html and then find Sydney it lists medibank too.

Thanks, my husband was able to get his medical done. Now we are just waiting for the results to be sent to the consulate and get a response from them. Let's see how long they take to send the results and how long it takes for us to hear back.

Will the consulate get in touch with us or just send my husband everything in the mail?

I just realised you're doing a spouse visa, but I reckon it can't be too different :/

If the interview is done, they will probably just receive the results and then get the passport ready.

Yeah its a spousal visa. Its an expedited case so everything is all over the place and I don't know what to expect.

Because Medibank doesn't appear on the list....
