I have read some of the discussion on this site related to NVC AOS and IV fee payments. However, I'm apparently still not understanding something...

Shortly after receiving a case & invoice number I went online and paid the AOS fee. Easy. The IV status was, at that time, listed as NOT INVOICED. I figured that there was nothing to do but wait for the IV status to change.

After a couple weeks went by with no change, I started calling the NVC multiple times per day. I've probably called the NVC over 40 times and I have never reached a human. Calling seems futile (am I even dialing the right number?).

At any rate, It's been multiple weeks and the IV still says NOT INVOICED. What is that I could / should be doing to trigger the IV status to change?

Thanks for the response. It sounds like I'm not necessarily doing anything wrong. Thus, after paying the AOS fee... one should expect the IV status to eventually change (without any particular additional actions being taken). Am I understanding the situation correctly?

have you read the NVC wiki?

You are not understanding the process.

The IV will be invoiced when the DS-261 is added to the casefile.

Thanks for the feedback. But how is the 261 added to the case file? I submitted the 261 weeks ago. My assumption is that the IV invoice process is out of my hands at this point... that I just need to wait and keep checking the site. Is that correct?

Note: I have read through the wiki

When the NVC review it and add it. Whatever you do, do not resubmit the DS-261 if it says incomplete.

Honestly, It is out of your hands unless you can call and get someone to review the file. It normally takes from 7-30 days.

I know that's a huge span but some people manage to get the DS-261 reviewed in 7 days while others have to wait it out.

You're welcome. Keep trying to call them. :)

The reason I let you know you may not be understanding it correctly is because the AOS fee and IV fee have nothing to do with each other. Paying one or the other doesn't trigger the opposite to be invoiced.
