Hi guys, need help answering few questions regarding DS160 form:

1- Travel information: have you made specific travel plans? yes/no. My case is in transit to Algiers embassy, and the waiting time for an interview is unknown, should I answer no and provide them an estimate date? or yes.

2- person/entity paying for your trip? In my case my famiy gonna help me a bit with that, should I just put myself? and do I have to show them my or my family proof of income? I'm still student,

3- Is it ok to fill the ds160 before embassy receives our petition? knowing that NVC sent it 1 week ago nd is still in transit according to CEAC tracker.

Thank you in advance for your replies :)

For one and two put what the answers are, why put anything different? For three yes it's fine.

Thanks for your reply Shaun. For question 2, I'm just scared they'll ask me a proof of income or something like that at the interview which I don't have since I'm student. It's worrying me a bit.

You should have a filled I-134 from the sponsor for the interview with tax transcripts, that's different than who would pay for the trip.

Ye I know, guess they won't ask me how did I get the money to pay my ticket while I'm just a student. Hope they won't.

We filled out the ds160 right after it was approved by the USCIS about 2 week before it got to the NVC. You don't have to wait.
