Traveling after 4 months of visa issuance ?

Dear all hope you all are good , can you please tell me can I travel to United States after months of k1 visa issuance. I am still in my country but planning to go with in 2 weeks but this way I would have less than 60 days left in my visa . Someone made me worried that I need to travel to states with in the 90 days of visa issuance . Plz guide thanks

Not always true, it's 6 months from the medical normally. this has tripped up quite a few people who had to get extra evidence to the embassy after an interview or those who have had extra TB screening.

OP Check your visa, from what I remember it will have an expiry date on it. So long as you are in the U.S. before it expires then you are good.

You will then have to get married to your k1 sponsor, fiancé, within 90 days of arriving in the U.S.

Yeah usually the exp date is 6 months from when your medical was completed.


There's been people on the forms that have recieved their visas only to see it expired the next month. They had done their medical early to make sure it was all done and good, but didn't realize it directly related to the exp date. So they did their medical in say May and their interview late August, causing their visa to expire in Oct.
