I recently received due to a few things, and one of them is that the NVC claims that my birth certificate was issued by the wrong institution.

However, the institution that the NVC is talking about no longer issues certificates, it is handled by another institution. I called the NVC and the representative told me to write a statement explaining this situation, and I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, and how they were able to support their case?

Any help/advice is appreciated, thanks. :)

The NVC just has to have something to fill that spot in your file. Writing a handwritten letter with your name and DOB as well as the petitioners name and DOB explaining your situation should allow you to get to the interview stage where the consulate will decide based off of your file. Without the explanation you will not get to the interview stage. Good luck!!
