Check NVS case status online

I have submitted AOS package for my Mom about 2 weeks ago. When I try to check the case status online I still see this, like it was before submitting the AOS package:

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
At NVC
Immigrant Visa Case Number: *************
Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us athttp://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information.

That means, they did not adjudicate our package yet, and I simply have to wait? Or I am checking the wrong place?

Sounds like you got or should have gotten an email saying they needed a document from you

need to check and ask

but this statement will be there until the case is complete / mine was like that long past the case going to embassy / case update date would change but message stayed the same

U check ur case process.

Ceac.state.gov

Plz check DS 261 form.

Submit ur case no and invoice number.

Then check ur AOS status.

Even i have got the same reply frm NVC.. under AOS fee it is written paid and under another AOS next to it.. it is written N/A.. but we had submitted AOS long back and other docs also.. except for PCC and Photographs which we had sent a week or 2 back!

So, what is the way to get the case status information from them except waiting for the paper mail?

You are right. NVC did not review your case yet. The status will remain the same until they complete your case and arrange interview with the embassy. Once done the status will change to "ready". The minimum time to review documents at NVC is 30 days at the moment.( It however used to be 60 days in the recent past). Wait for case complete email from NVC.
