Hi All,

My interview is coming up. I'm wondering for those of you who had interview experience, do they allow spouse/petitioner to accompany the applicants in the interview process?

Reading from the website it seems like that's not allowed in Montreal consulate. Did anyone have any recent experience that you can share?

TIA

Thank you. When you say "wasn't required" did you mean they told her not to join for the actual interview or did she decide not to join on her own?

He/Him*

He went in with me, security let him in, no problem (showed his passport).

At the interview room (semi-open area with no door, but separated from the other windows), the officer told him that he can grab a seat and didn't Interview him at all.

Hope it helps. It's all up to the interviewer if he/she wants to interview your spouse/petitioner.

thank you for the details! Sorry I mixed up the pronouns, in my case the petitioner/my spouse is my wife so in the back of my mind for some reason she/her popped up. My bad!

It's okay, no worries!

And just FYI - there's a Starbucks right across the street, literally 100 yards away from the consulate entrance, your wife could always go and wait there (or maybe grab a coffee), if they were to have the "full-house" again.

I had my interview at 7:40am and we were the second or the third one in line so we didn't have any problem and was out pretty fast.

The day I went in, they didn't allow anyone but the applicant. Prob cause it was a house full.

I saw a few of these posts from Montreal in the past few weeks where they didn't let the USC go in. I'm still going to go. If they don't let me in, I heard there was a Tim Horton's close by.

I have a question about keys though... it says no remote key locks... but what if the remote key lock is physically part of your car key? Can you check it at the door? Like get a ticket to pick it back up?

EDIT:

Thanks for the info!!!

That's a good question. I would like to know too if there's any lockers or things of that nature available on site.

BTW we are getting interviewed on the same day!! Good luck!!

There are no lockers etc.. if you have keys they will take them, give you a tag, and you can pick it back up on the way out. You are not allowed anything big etc... it's a secure area. You go through a metal detector and your stuff goes on a belt like at an airport only much smaller.
