Sorry if I am in the wrong forum.

June 10th 2015 our K-1 (I-129F) was approved and sent to NVC. The I-797 (assuming NOA2) states will take from 2 to 4 weeks and if I do not hear anything after 30 days to e-mail: NVCINQIURY@state.gov

Have done so with no word there. Nothing in regular mail either. Is this normal after what the form has said? What should I expect from this point on?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

You can call the NVC from 7am to 12am EST at 603-334-0700. This is the immigrant line that will answer your questions. They should be able to give you your case number after answering some questions. Be aware it is not a toll free number, and you can expect to be placed on hold for some time. You may have to redial many times to get through. Usually best to call right before they open.

Once you have your case number you can track if it's at your embassy via CEAC https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx For the rest you'll probably have to check out your embassy specific instructions/forum.

The NVC is not fast.. and sometimes never bother to send a notification, so it's sometimes good to track down where your case is on your own. I think there was one poster here that finally got an email reply...a month or so *after* they had already had their visa in hand. :P So... they are that slow. If it's been that long, I would say it's a very good chance your case is at the embassy, so follow up on it as soon as possible.

I actually called the NVC today to get information about my case. Dialed 47 times until it rang through. Spent 58 waiting on hold. Rep said that notification is sent by email not by post. Did you check email? Junk mail?

It's painful yeah?

Rep is incorrect. They don't send out email notices. They may respond to an email if you ask them, but it will take a very long while.

It sounds like the process may have changed then because she confirmed my email address.

Okay here is an update but I have some questions about what to do next.

I called NVC the other day, got our case number. it took me about 40 tries, then a 45 minute wait time. They verified our info and I wrote the case number down. They said I was to go to the consulate website of the Philippines and click "contact us". They said our visa is already there and we need to do an interview. I'm a little confused as to what to do from here. Here is a list of things I "think" I/we need to do... If I missed something or am wrong please let me know...

- Guessing she (Ailyn) has to apply for the visa now?

- I found an "embassy letter" with instructions

- DS-160? An online form. But it says "non-imagrant" This is what confuses me. Then she prints the completed form for the interview.

- Passport ( we did this already) NBI and police clearances. Are the clearances from the passport still good if only a few months old? Or do we need to get her new clearances?

- schedule the Interview. The medical 1 week before

- Book a one way flight for her to get to Manila

- Pay for the Interview. Is this something I can do with my credit card online for her???

- take receipt of Interview payment to the medical

- She takes the Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support) to the interview? The one I filled out from the I-129 visa packet? or an updated one?

- Relationship evidence? Can this also be the same as from the I-129 visa packet that was submitted?

- New "passport type" photos too? or same as from packet?

- will she need to take any more information from my bank?

Im sorry I have so many questions. I want to make sure we do this right, the first time, so we do not have to re-schedule the Interview. Any help would dearly be appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance

Dave
