Visa Courier - Grrrrr....

The DX courier came to my home today to deliver the visa and passport.

I was at home and in the back room. I didn't hear the front door, had no text or call on my mobile phone. First I knew was when I went to the kitchen and saw a delivery card in the letter box. The card only had my name and a time written on it, the "reasons we could not leave it" section was left blank. The Tracking Number on the card is also not recognised by the DX website or automated phone re-delivery system.

I used the tracking number that was emailed to me last week, which IS recognised. However, rather than use the automated re-delivery system I decided to speak to someone at DX on the phone to highlight the lack of effort by the courier to ensure anyone was at home to take delivery. He was quite apologetic, and re-scheduled delivery for tomorrow. He also confirmed that they had my contact mobile number and that it was correct. I emphasised that the next courier should make every effort to contact me when delivering the package as I WILL be at home.

For anyone else awaiting delivery of their visa, keep an eye out for the courier because in my case, they don't make much of an effort to see if anyone is at home to take delivery.

End of GRRRRR!!!!!

My visa arrived today. To make sure the courier made an effort, I pinned a sign on my front door marked for their attention and clearly stating that someone was at home and expecting the package. I also put my phone number on there with instructions to call if no-one answers the door.

Anyhow, I was listening out this morning and heard a knock on the door. Visa is now in hand

Waiting on AOS is a breeze though since you are together. :)

But, Kas is aching to work, he's been on holiday long enough he says.

I had a courier Grrrr! moment. My fiancé was at work and I was waiting at home for the delivery. I was pretty much planted in the front room all day, afraid I would miss a knock. Boring.....

So once it got past 5:00, I called and asked if they still planned to deliver because I was tired of being trapped in suspense. They said the truck had broken down around 11:00 am and the driver went back to the station and would deliver next day. I asked if they had considered having that driver use his free six hours to notify people who now get to spend another maybe 9 hours waiting tomorrow. The lady was quite nice and gave me a number to call before 8am the next morning and they would be able to tell me the schedule and a one hour window of expected delivery. So the next day I knew I was free until around 3pm. Yay! shopping day.

When 4:00 rolled around, I called her secret number again and asked for an update. She actually called the driver for me to ask where he was....several times even until he finally showed up telling me how bad the traffic was.

True, but I must say the worst is having to wait 3 months for work authorisation.... I don't handle boredom well lol
