Hey Everyone, I stated in my last post I would post some details of Maries interview once she filled me in about them, so here we go.

First I will tell you about the possible sponsor dilemma I thought we might have had (but didnt). With a K Visa they do not allow a co-sponsor. This was not good we thought because I was laid off last year for a long time and I didnt meet the income guidelines. I am currently making well over the guideline but that didnt change last years proof of income. We actually thought about not even trying for the K-3 Visa but to simply go with the CR1 Visa(co-sponsor is allowed) but after asking about this on the VJ forum I was advised to use the co-sponsor we had as the primary sponsor. I also learned that a number of people at the Manila embassy were being granted K-3 Visa's if the sponsor was a close relative(Brother,Sister,Parents) . So we thought why not try.

Marie showed up at the embassy at 4 AM, Im not sure this was necessary but I think I would have done the same thing. She was called inside promptly at 7:30 AM (her scheduled interview time) After some time she was called to the window where they check all of your documents before the actual interview with the officer. She gave the lady my Brothers I134 Affidavit of support and then the lady asked for the beneficiarys affidavit also, so then Marie gave her mine also. She asked where we met and when and that was about it for that part. Then about 11:00 she was called in for her interview. It was a American Lady doing the interview. Marie said it took all of 2 minutes. She just looked through the papers asked how we met and that was it. Marie said she seen a pink piece of paper that said "APPROVED". She then waited until she was called to the Delbros Carrier window - she went to the window and paid for her visa 2 be delivered and that was it-ALL DONE.

THANKYOU everyone so so much. If it wasnt for Visa Journey we coulkd have never done this without an attorney. We still have more to do yet but at least now we can do it together. I can only wish everyone has a speedy approval like Marie and I did. So Again- Thankyou and God Bless - Gary and Marie

Thank you for this information you've shared with everyone.

I was reading your timeline... sigh. My husband is leaving this Wednesday for the States, primarily to file the petition. We have been together here in Manila for over a year (since we got married). It really sucks that we have to be apart for a while, but we really don't have a choice. I don't know how I'm going to deal with the separation. I just hope our K3 visa petition goes smoothly, so as not to cause any delay whatsoever with our reunification. He's still here with me, and I already miss him! Silly, no?

Anyway, my husband and I will have a co-sponsor for our K3 visa (my USC aunt) using the I-134 AOS. Someone (can't remember who!) posted this significant information in one of the forum topics regarding the I-134 for the K3 visa, and they said that the US Embassy in Manila accepts co-sponsors for the K3 visa (according to an immigration officer from the embassy that they spoke with), but NOT for the K1 visa. Knowing all this, my husband and I feel so relieved. Still, we can't help but worry.

BTW, congratulations! It was well worth the wait, I'm sure. God bless you and your wife!
