Hi,

My beneficiary had his interview today. The officer told him that they needed to conduct further investigation into his criminal background due to a "No Live Trace" result on his police cerificate. He explained the details of his prior minor charges. He expalined that he read that he did not need to provide any other doucmentation so long as he remembered the details of his charges, which he does. She told him that she didn't anticipate any other issues.

He was given his chest x-ray disc and the affidavit of support. They kept his passport. He was asked some questions about our relationship, but he did not have to show any documentation such as photos, texts, or travel inteneraries.

He was not given any forms whatsoever. She said he would receive something in the post. No time frame was given.

Doe sthis mean that we need to order a Subject Report? Or, should we just wait to see what happens? Does anyone have any idea how long this could take?

I apologize if this has been asked and answered. I did review the forum first, but I didn't see any posts with the exact circumstances.

Thank you for your help.

Subject Access Report would be normal in this case which may produce a requirement for additional information.

Thank you. She told him that he did not need to send anything and that they would be conducting their own review. He is going to go ahead and order a Subject Report to be safe.

I just wish I knew what to expect as far as teh time is concerned.

Obviously depends on his criminal history, my guess is he will get a RFE.

A 221(g) usually has something specific missing listed that needs to be provided. They aren't asking for anything and are going to try to confirm his record...so more like a pause for some administrative processing.

A short while back there were actually two similar London situations posting in the same thread. After some time (forgot, two weeks?) they were contacted to provide a subject access report. So ordering one immediately could prove beneficial. Sorry I can't remember what thread or a rough time frame to find it for you without spending a lot of time looking. Maybe one of them provided a SAR before getting asked. Anyway, both got visas.
