Once I get my social security card, which will have " Not authorized for work" stamped on it, because I'm currently awaiting my EAD, I'm on a K-1 visa, we were married in early May,

will I have to go back to the social security office to get a new card, when my EAD finally arrives. I'm just wondering if I should even bother getting one until I have my EAD.

I would get it. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that if you don't get your social security card within two weeks of your I 94 expiring, you have to wait until your Green Card arrives. If we would have waited, it would have taken us over a year for my husband's social security card to be processed.

you can get it. It will say not valid for employment without EAD. You can also do it after EAD but will still say the same thing. Once you have your green card you can have it removed, but it's worth having.

Legal not allowed to work.. Once you have EAD you can have it changed again to valid with EAD.
