Right to Work with Green Card?

I arrived in the US on a K-1 fiance visa. After getting married I applied for my EAD and AOS at the same time. To cut a long story short the EAD experience has been a nightmare and I am in a loophole where they keep telling me I have been approved for the EAD pending the biometrics but they have yet to send me a biometrics appoinyment. Being approved for the EAD pending the biomentrics means they will not give me a interim EAD therefore I can not work. The AOS application has gone more smoothly, I have had the biometrics for the AOS and we have an interview date for Feb 15th. I was wondering if I still dont have the EAD by the time I have my Green Card will the Green Card alone give the the right to work?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Bes regards,

Mark Wilkins

Yup everybody's right here. I also applied for an EAD but they kept on saying it's approved already but they never issued me an appointment for my biometrics. As of this date, I'm done with my AOS interview and god appoved but they haven't issued me an EAD. My greencard is already on its way with or without an EAD i'm all set. So don't you worry, once you get approved, you don't need the EAD.

P.S. You can't reimburse the fee for the EAD. too bad but that's reality.he.he.he.

My husband got stuck with the EAD black hole too. We did an infopass to the Columbus, Ohio, office and they had him do his biometrics right then, we never received an appointment notice. They said it had been approved 11/29 and we were there 1/13. They must have fixed the problem for he received his EAD in the mail on 1/23. On 1/26 we had our AOS successful interview.

Good luck and an infopass is what you might want to do instead of waiting.

Thank you all for your advice and well wishes, it's good to know I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Hopefully the AOS interview (Feb 15th) will go well and the EAD situation will become irrelevent. I tried going down the infopass route but Newark (NJ) would not issue me a biometrics appointment on the spot. I have just scheduled a 2nd infopass appointment but don't have much hope.

Best Wishes

Mark
