Power of Attorney for Healthcare for I-751

I am starting to gather my documentation for the I-751. I printed out an on line Power of Attorney for my Health Care and I completed it and had two non-blood related people sign it as witnesses which the instructions say do not have blood family sign it as witnesses.

My question is, in the State of Washington this Power of Attorney for Health Care does not require it to be notarized. My two witnesses who signed the form, it would be very hard to get them into a Notary at the same time.

I would like to have it notarized, even though in Washington State it is not required, just for reassurances that USCIS knows it is a legitimate document.

Will they accept this document not notarized even if it is not required in my home State, it states it is a legal document with my signature and the two witnesses also, will the USCIS find it hard to accept, even though I did the Power of Attorney as a bonafide request that my Wife is and will be responsible for any decisions of my health if I am unable to do this on my own.

Because it need not be notarized to be legal in Washington State, USCIS can't deny its legitimacy as a legal, valid document. You can immediately quit worrying about this aspect.

Powers of attorney, wills, and associated documents are far more useful to have in "life" than for USCIS/immigration purposes, anyway, so be thankful that you have a valid healthcare power of attorney.
