I already have my biometric screening and just received a letter for interview for adjustment of status with my husband.

Can anyone share experience during the interview?

You may want to check out the reviews for the office that will do your interview. In general, the IO will verify all the information on the 485 including all the yes/no questions. The will look for evidence of the marriage (joint accounts, joint bills, photos, etc.). Some people experience separate interviews that may be more in depth with regard to the validity of the marriage, so if you have any major red flags, this might be the case. I think they do this to see if they get the same answers from each spouse, but I cannot confirm this as we did not experience one.

I can tell you that our interview in Detroit was quite painless. My wife was a bit nervous at first, but she relaxed pretty quickly, and the IO was quite nice. One thing to keep in mind is that you may not get a decision at the end of the interview. Based on my unscientific poll, this happens almost 50% of the time, however, you should be able to get a feel for the IO when the interview concludes. In our case, the IO told us she had no decision at the end of the interview, but then went on to describe the ROC process to us. We received the approval two days later.

The interview itself lasted about 10 minutes. We waited in the waiting area longer, but we did not want to be late.
