There is nothing you can do to break the lock of AP, it sounds like you have hit the name of someone that did something bad. You will have to wait on them proving you are not that person. Your petitioner can ask their federal representative to inquire on the case. It has been such a long time maybe having to say we have been sitting about for a year will embarrass them to do something positive

He has an office in Greenwood. All she has to do is use google to find her representative.

She can choose whom to contact. Their offices has an immigration liaison that can make an inquiry.

Having said that, no one can shorten or end your AP time.

It will end when their investigation, security and background checks are complete.

We were in AP for 16 months so I know how it feels, like a getting lost in the abyss with no end in sight.

Your wife should book a flight and visit you.

I had my Congressperson (John Cornyn -Texas)intervene on my behalf twice during our long wait and this was before we hit the interview phase and I kept his info on me just in case we hit a snag after the embassy interview. That was my next gameplan.Fortunately everything went smoothly.
