Tax Return for I-751

Hello everybody in visajourney land, I will be submitting my I-751 this coming January/2016, I know it seems like a longs way off, but I have been slowly preparing for it.

My question is I will not be doing my taxes for the 2015 year until after I submit my I-751. I will be submitting my 2013 and 2014 Joint Tax return transcripts, but I know they will really like to see the 2015 joint return

Any advice or suggestions on this? I can submit the tax return that I will do on line, but I know that is not usually acceptable to the USCIS because that does not actually tell them if it was actually filed and sent to the IRS

I am assuming, I will probably get an RFE requesting my 2015 Joint Tax returns, right?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Again, I know January /2016 is a ways down the road, but It will come fast.

If you have been married for close to 2 years, they can expect to see 2 tax transcripts, not 3. Also, make sure to send transcripts (filed and accepted by the irs) and NOT tax returns (that you allege you have filed). You can order them for free from IRS.gov and they are delivered within a week or so. Good luck!

05/20/16 - Received 1st NOA (dated 05/13/16) & created ELIS acct - Day 10

05/21/16 - Received 2nd NOA (dated 05/16/16) confirming my DOB and address - Day 11

05/22/06 - Biometrics scheduled (online update) and appt letter was mailed on 05/20/16 - Day 12

05/24/06 - Biometrics letter became viewable online (appt scheduled for 06/07/16) - Day 14

05/27/16 - Received Biometrics letter in mail - Day 17

05/31/16 - Was denied walk-in fingerprints with just 1 person left in line. Milwaukee office, boo! - Day 21

06/07/16 - Biometrics completed in Milwaukee, WI - Day 28

12/21/16 - Passed Citizenship test/Interview was successful! - Day 197

01/26/17 - I am a US citizen!!! - Day 233

Yes, I've seen them do RFE's for new year's tax returns come April and ROC still not processed.

Since you know what to expect, about 5 weeks after filing taxes you can go to your local IRS office and have them print the transcript for you to have just in case you get an RFE.
