My fiancée finished DOT at SLEC last week. We are now trying to make sure that we head off any potential issues.

Questions for those who have recently finished DOT at SLEC

At what point were you able to reschedule your interview?

Did you have to wait until the status changed to something other than 'REFUSED'?

Did any of you reschedule before having the results in hand? We were thinking of scheduling for a week or so after the date of the results.

My fiancée was told something about having to wait 14 days after the final culture results are available to finish re-med and get vaccinations etc Has this been your experience?

Are there any additional documents that need to be re-done? We already have a new NBI and CENOMAR.

We are concerned because we are coming very close to 1 year since we paid the Visa fee. I haven’t been able to get an answer from the embassy about what happens if we go beyond a year.

Thank you for your help

My wife just finished her TB test about a month ago. Basically she was informed that she needs to take the TB test and the whole process took about 2 months. From what I understand it will take about 14 days before they could tell you if the TB test is positive and if she will need to be treated. If no treatment is needed then you just wait till the end of 2 months to get the final result + vaccination. I am not sure if this is the same for fiancee but in our case, it was St. Luke who requested the interview to be rescheduled.

For the website status, looks like it takes a while to get changed. My wife passed the interview about 2 weeks ago and was told to wait for her visa but the website is still showing "Refused".

Here is a primer and a thread where your topic was talked about. Maybe you'll get some answers from there.

Your CEAC status will change from Refused to Ready when the embassy removes the hold that is placed on your case as a result of SLEC reporting the positive TB to them. Ready status happens after the embassy opens the sealed medical report and at that time changes CEAC to Ready.

If you get an appointment to interview the day after or shortly there after the re-medical, when CEAC is still stating "refused" it will not be a problem, as the paperwork all catches up. So go ahead and schedule your interview at USEM and by doing so, you will have cut off two to three weeks wait time.
