Hi,

I petitioned for my husband to receive a visa in September. First, we mailed in the I 130 and then the I 129f. The I 130 was approved and sent to the NVC first in March 2015. We've been able to assign an agent and pay the AOS in the first week of April. We still haven't received the IV fee invoice. I called the NVC three times about the delay and I was told three different reasons. The explanation that makes the most sense is that the NVC is waiting to consolidate I 129f since it is no longer needed and until they receive the I 129 form, which has been sent before they can move forward with our visa.

Does anyone know if this is correct? I know the I 129f is unnecessary if the I 130 is approved before it, but I haven't seen any information online about the NVC needing to consolidate both forms.

Any help with this would be appreciated!

the ds-261, or rather, the adding of the ds-261 to the casefile,

is the event that triggers IV Fee being visible to pay.

what news of the ds-261 being added to the casefile?

yes, it's common ! per NVC practice,

if an approved I-130 exists, the approved I-129F is administratively closed at NVC.
