Changing consulates

Hey guys, I am in Canada and have been assigned Montreal which is farther away from where I live. I am wanting to switch to Vancouver (it is much closer to me, as well as my fiancé in California). As far as I know, NVC still has my case with them and has not sent it out to the Montreal embassy yet. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with changing their embassy at the NVC stage or after, and what the wait time/processing time was like. I am going to call NVC first thing Monday morning, but I just don't want to slow down our K1 process any more than we have to. Just curious if anyone has any input on the subject!
Thank you!

On Monday call the NVC and request Vancouver. Case number should start with VAC. You're the 3rd person who seems to have gotten the wrong consulate.
