hello Vj's members, I need an urgent advice and information. I am a naturalize us citizen and i have an emergency flight next month. I really want to apply the dual citizenship and new ph passport but i don't have enough time to do it now. I have no idea how long im gonna stay in the philippines but i will sure try to get the balikbayan stamp valid for 1 year. I will enter the PH with a US passport and ask for the BB stamp to be safe for immigration fee. My question is: can i apply my dual citizenship and a new US here before i leave and have all the documents sent to my address in the Philippines? I been trying to get to talk to anybody from the PH embassy in Washington DC but seems like nobody wants to answer the call. I even try calling the different department but still no answer. Please share your thought if anyone here have any experience about this matter.

They will not forward any of your documents to you in the PI. Besides, I would trust that to happen. So, enter on your US passport and bring along your BC and MC. Show your passport and BC to avail of the Balikbayan Stamp. Then get your dual citizenship and new passport while in the PI. Document requirements are as follow to get your Dual citizenship.

Submit the original and one duplicate copy of the following required documents to apply for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship:

•One (1) original and one (1) photocopy of the duly-accomplished Dual Citizenship application form, typed or printed legibly in black or blue ink

•Copy of Philippine Birth Certificate (original to be presented before the oath taking, when applying by mail)

•Copies of Philippine and U.S. Passports (originals to be presented before the oath taking, when applying by mail)

•Copy of Marriage Certificate/Contract, for married women (original to be presented before the oath taking, when applying by mail)

•Copy of U.S. Naturalization Certificate (original to be presented before the oath taking, when applying by mail)

•Four (4) colored photos, 2” x 2”, taken within six months before the date of application, showing a clear front view of applicant’s face, with a white background. No sleeveless attire. Blurred or low quality photos are not accepted.

Verify the following once you arrive in the PI:

•Processing fee of $50.00 (non-refundable), payable in cash or money order made payable to "Embassy of the Philippines" (or "Philippine Consulate General", if application is made at one of the Philippine Consulates General in the U.S.). Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted.
