You can achieve the same objective by disclosing your traffic tickets on the time of interview without confusing the heck out of your application and multiple officers who are reviewing it. If you are applying the logic that traffic tickets are offence by answering 23 with yes then you should apply the same logic for 24 and 25. Where you are charged with offence YES (clearly). And if there is any fine or probation for traffic tickets order by court of judge will result in convection for immigration. So 25 would be yes too lets confuse them even more now with yes answer for convection.

"The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), in one of its rare attempts at clarity, defines the term conviction as follows (INA §101(a)(48):

(A) The term conviction means, with respect to an alien, a formal judgment of guilt of the alien entered by a court or, if adjudication of guilt has been withheld, where

(i) a judge or jury has found the alien guilty or the alien has entered a plea of guilty or nolo

contendere or has admitted sufficient facts to warrant a finding of guilt, and

(ii) the judge has ordered some form of punishment, penalty, or restraint on the alien's liberty

to be imposed."

I guess this is a Grey area but logically they are interested in looking at bigger things then your traffic citations which they say you do not need to provide evidence off. And you can always disclose them on the interview if they ask and provide paper work end of story.

Everyone one here has read my argument and yours as well as the experiences of others. They can make their own decision.

I'm with Golfer on this one. Mark no on the application as it will only confuse things. At the interview when you are reviewing the app question by question say, "I have 2 speeding tickets which were paid." Offer documentation to support the assertion. Done.

When the IO asked about it, I said that I had a ticket, and I already paid for it. Then she would like to take a look on the certify certificate and I gave it for her. She said it should be fine. She gave me two papers to sign and said I have passed the test. I was so happy. My journey finally has been done. Thank everyone for helping me.

I had taken the oath on the same day. My appointment was at 11:15. After passed the interview, she asked me do I want to take oath at 1:15. I said yes. The interview took only 20 minutes.. Very fast.

I called USCIS again today but I did request to speak to a level 2 supervisor. He was able to check my application and give me an exact status. He says that my case was assigned to an officer on Oct 20th. Once assigned to an officer he should make a decision in 30-60 days. He asked me to wait till Dec 20th and call in again to open an inquiry. When I asked him "Does it mean that my background check is complete?" He said "It is assigned to an officer." That's not the answer I was looking for but as far as I understand the background check has to be clear before an application is assigned to an IO. Anyone has any clue?

At this point I am not sure if this conversation helped me in any way.

I called USCIS last month again and they opened a inquiry as they did not find anything wrong with my case. Today I get a letter saying:

"Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner..." blah blah blah...

Does anyone know what this means? More wait for no reason?

The short story: 8AM Interview today. Passed. 130pm Oath ceremony. Done. Citizenship is over. Applied in June 11 to Phoenix Office, Interview & Oath Taken in Seattle office on Jan 11. There is a symmetry to that.

Gory details follow:

0757: Parked

0800: Passed Security line and got the Q ticket number

0803: Sat in 2nd floor waiting to be called. (yes, 3 mins late )

They have a monitor in the 2nd floor on the left that says how interviews are progressing. When I walked in, it said scheduled interviews were running within 15 mins" 15 mins was in red. I figured that was a nice way of not admitting they were behind schedule

0815: Called in by a very friendly, fun, young and professional lady.

Qns asked:

1. Capital of Washington State

2. In WWii who did we fight?

3. Who/what do we pledge allegiance to when we take the oath?

4. What is the national anthem of the US?

5. What is the supreme law of the land?

6. What is an amendment?

7. who vetoes bills.

PS: The answer to question #4 is not "Stairway to Heaven". It should be. But it isnt. Boo.

0825: I Was told that I passed, I was asked if I am travelling in the next 2 months outside the US. I said I was travelling in the next 3 weeks - and that I have an appt with the Passport agency the next day am. She smiled and asked if I assumed I would be taking the oath the same day. "Uh Yeaah" (Apparently not everyone gets same day oath, since slots get full; so the 2 month travel qn is to help prioritize the ppl who are travelling vs who arent, so that the ppl in need are given priority. Makes sense!).

I was given all the forms confirming my passing the tests, the recommendation from the officer and a letter for the oath ceremony the same afternoon. And officer asked if I had any qns. I asked if she had any recommendations for lunch.

She complained Burien was the "boonies" and doesnt haev the same options for healthy food as Seattle, but pointed me to go to Southcenter mall and see what i could get.

0829. We were done, and I was escorted outside

0833 I was back in the car - going to SouthCenter Mall.

Infact there is a LA fitness there at the Mall, so hung out there for a few hrs, had a few skype calls, lunch and time to go back to the USCIS.

For the 1315 Ceremony, details:

1309: Parked

1317: Finished security and went upstairs (there was a big line naturally in security) There was a briefing there asking you fill the back of the form given at interview. Asking qns like if you got divorced/married since interview, travelled anywhere etc etc.

1322: We were moved downstairs to the auditorium to get seated in a very specific order (with preassigned seats)

1400: The ceremony starts

1404: They sing the anthem (No. Not Stairway to Heaven. )

We are told 99 ppl from 40 countries are now going to be transformed into 99 ppl of 1 country.

1416: Oath done.

1420: Judge Doanhue was chief guest gave a speech about hope and oppty (Which was the point of Stairway!!!)

1426: Obama gives a speech. (video, nevertheless Wow. What a speaker!)

1430: Pledge of Allegiance

and then a big parade like in primary school. as we line up to get the certificate.

1453: I get my certificate

1500: Its all done and we are sent out.

And that, is a wrap.

Hello Friends!!

I called USCIS last month again and they opened a inquiry as they did not find anything wrong with my case. Today I get a letter saying:

"Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner..." blah blah blah...

Does anyone know what this means? More wait for no reason?

It seems no one has got this type of letter from USCIS.... I guess I'll wait for couple of weeks more before scheduling an infopass appointment. Involving a lawyer will be the last option...

still waiting for action on my case. filed in june (Chicago) and went for fingerprinting in july. till date no movement. did speak to tier 2 officer a couple of times and the difference was that this time he said its in local office? not sure if that is tru. did open up an enquiry through him and this is what it states on the website: As of January 13, 2016, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number WKD0131600827CHI, is currently not assigned for processing. what does this mean?? any inputs. anything else I can do

I am in the same situation, so are a number of other people on this board. There is nothing you can do. They probably lost your application. They are useless and incompetent. Their "inquiries" are only meant to fob you off and make you go away. Give up hope or get a lawyer. Or give up hope and get a lawyer.

Called USCIS yesterday to find out about my case and thankfully they opened a service request as they realized that my case is out of normal processing times.
