I know Dan told me to just wait and see, but I don't think I can. I hope it's not a major problem we have to go through. I totally forgot that my parents changed my name whenever I was 6, long long time ago. The reason why they changed it was because Back then I always had problem with my health, I always got sick. They believe that my name was to heavy to bear. Yeah, there's such a believe here, especially javanese tribe people. So anyway, I totally forgot to tell that to Dan before he sent the I-129F in mail. I wonder if anyone here ever had the same problem ? :):crying:

I guess all you can do is wait and see. Can you get the supporting documentation to prove the legal name change while you wait just in case? Was all of your identification changed? Like your birth certificate etc?

Sorry... not much else to offer than a hearty good luck

Yes, the note of the changed name is jotted down on my birth certificate at the very same page. My dad made it legal, he went to court 4 times in 1986 for the name changing process. I know I-129F document doesn't require birth certificate of fiance/fiancee unless there is a name changing thing. But..oh well you're right, and Dan is right. To wait and see, and stay positive :crying: .

Thank you for replying, you're so kind :D Best wishes for you and your loved one

xoxo

Hello,

I made a similar error on our 129f petition. I filled out all the documents based on the birth certificates for Pu and her daughter that Pu had sent me. I didn't realize that Pu's daughter's name had been changed after birth becuase Pu never married the father. By changing the name, Pu eliminated the possibility of the non-supportive father of ever showing up and claiming custody.

Anyway, the 129f was made with the incorrect family name for Pu's daughter. I emailed the embassy, but didn't get a response. I read somewher that Pu should bring the official (tranlated) name change document (that she has in her possesion) to her interview. Hopefully we'll clear it up then and it won't cause any problems. Our interview is May 16th. If you send me a follow up email after that I'll let you know how things went. I've got tons of follow ups after the interview, so I don't want you to be left out.
