Hey, everyone!

I recently came across this guide and am now unclear about how I am supposed to fill out my joint sponsor's i-864. On Part 6, question 13a-c1, the form asks for the past 3 year's federal tax incomes. According to the guide I linked, it should be filled out in this manner:

-Use the correct numbers on the I-864/I-864EZ for past year's incomes. As it states RIGHT IN THE QUESTION, if you filed a 1040 (or 1040A), then use total income, and if you filed a 1040EZ, then use adjusted gross income. If you filed jointly, then make sure you use the combined income (since it doesn't separate the incomes) and then submit W2s to show individual income.

According to a previous thread I have made, I was advised to just use her individual income for this part of the form. My joint sponsor makes enough on her own (70k) to sponsor me, so we decided not to go with filling out a i-864a for her husband.

The instructions for the form don't really explain at all what to do in this situation and I haven't been able to reach an agent on the NVC line. Can anyone explain what I'm supposed to do, or which answer is correct? I really want to avoid getting a check list.

Use the combined income, make sure you send w2s so they can see the individual income they make . They want the number to match the tax returns regardless if it is combined or not . I had to do the same thing didn't get a checklist for it either .
