I received NOA2 on May 1st. One week after USCIS sent me an email letting know that my case has been transferred to NVC so on May 15 I called NVC and got my case and invoice numbers but the lady on the phone told me to wait for instructions on a welcome letter from NVC. Yesterday I called NVC and asked for this letter because at this point I don't really know what is next. Well, the lady told me that my case has been sent to Consulate already (Havana, Cuba) and now I should wait for them to contact me. I haven't been able to log into the sistem to check my visa status. I haven't paid any fee or fill out any forms yet.

Please help me. What do I do now?

The ambassy will contact you and send you packet 3 with all the requirement.but before that go here on VJ and read the guide( what to do after NOA2,)

If they are people here on vj who had experiences from your ambassy they can help you.

Begin to prepare affidavit of support and the proofs.

Once I received the letter from NVC and had the case number, I actually emailed the embassy and requested that they send Packet 3 via email. Put your case number in the subject line. The postal service in Jamaica is very slow and we didn't want to have to wait for delivery. Within 24 hours the embassy had emailed me back with all the instructions and steps. I would email Havana and just see what happens..

Good luck

Hello JAmeriangirl,

I think I may need your help too on the NVC to Kingston Embassy process. I was not aware that we could request the Packet 3 via email, but thats good news. Because I'd rather the paperwork be in my hands rather than my fiancé's and I am well aware of the slowness of Jamaican mail so that is a relief. So you did not wait on the NVC letter to get to you, you just emailed the embassy with the case number? Do you mind explaining or copying how you structured your email? I do not have my case number as of yet but I want to be ready as soon as I get it.

Thanks so much for your help in advance!

Hello,

Thank God for email or we'd still be waiting for him to receive papers from 3 years ago. Lol

I agree too I would much rather have the paperwork than him. No I had to wait on the letter, I never could get through to the NVC to check status and ask for the case number. I received the letter about 9 days after they received it, which was about 3 1/2 weeks after I received the NOA2. But as soon as I had it, I emailed Kingston at KingstonIV@state.gov

I put the case number, which will begin with KNG2015, in the subject line

Here is what I wrote:

Good Day,

I am writing in reference to case # KNG2015^*£+¥, Applicant: Fiancé Name, Petitioner: Your name

My fiancé and I received our letter from the NVC stating that our petition had been sent to the US Embassy, hopefully you have received it by now. We are sending this email to request that Packet 3 and that all future correspondence PLEASE be emailed to myself at (email address) or to my fiancé at (email address).

The deliverance of postal mail can be very unreliable at times and we do not want to miss our appointment date or not have everything we need for the interview.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to hearing back from you soon.

They emailed me the instruction letter in less than 24 hours. As soon as you have your case number you can file the DS-160, which is next step. Also, once we submitted the DS-160, registered it online, paid the visa fee( also online ), and scheduled his interview, I emailed them again and asked that the interview appointment letter (Packet 4) be emailed to us also...

You are welcome we are all in this together, that's why we're here is to help each other! Hope this helps if you have any other questions just message me, I'll be glad to help if I can.

Rhonda
