Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Philippines
Timeline

Hello me and my fiance are doing a k1 visa. She is working in hong kong and from the Philippines. We turned in our paperwork and got our receipt in December 15 of 2014. We are stuck in the texas center. We just got some news that the people she works for are going to send her home in august cause they are going to bring someone else in because they know she is leaving soon. My question is from what i see its going to take a anotger month or two before we get anything from texas. What should we do if she just gets her packet right before she has to leave hong kong. I would appreciate any help you could give us.

If she gets her packet before she leaves, contact Manila US Embassy to have your petition transferred from HK. This could take a couple of weeks depending on how quick Manila USEM responds. Manila will then get in touch with HK consulate to have the papers sent over. You should then just follow up with both via email to see when they sent the papers and if Manila USEM received them.

Packet 3 from HK consulate

What's included in their packet? Is it the same as the U.S. Embassy Manila, where they send the beneficiary a letter telling them that they are eligible to schedule an interview?

It has the checklist and some stuff they have to send back to the embassy first to show readiness for interview.

Sending stuff to the Embassy...that's definitely a different process than the U.S. Embassy Manila.

Thanks for the info.
