Moroccan husband and Schengen visa

My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe and Morocco for the end of the summer. We will be traveling on our own for the first part, visiting friends of his, then joining my family for a family reunion in Germany (I have relatives on both sides there), then traveling to Morocco with his family. Since Germany will be our POE and the country we will be spending the most amount of time in, we will apply at the German Embassy.

My husband has visited Europe a dozen times on 6 and 12 month tourist visas while he was living in Morocco. He never overstayed and followed all the visa rules. I hope with that history he would have an easy time obtaining a visa this time.

The only thing I'm worried about is that husband has had a difficult time finding a job and has just worked odd jobs (laborer, etc) so far. He's planning to go to trucking school in the fall. Would proof of his registration for the course suffice in place of an employer letter?

Any other advice? Anything else we should be considering?

Boiler, I would think so too.

We just booked the appointment at the German Embassy for June. Fingers crossed!

We are thinking about doing this too, but we are nervous about making travel arrangements and then having the visa be denied.

Have you booked flights and hotels already? Or will you do that after the appointment at the German Embassy?

We did book our tickets, but we booked the slightly more expensive ones that can be cancelled for a fee. I doubt we'll run into trouble since he was never denied a visa while living in Morocco (and really, why would someone spend the time, energy and $$$ to become a US permanent resident only to illegally immigrate to Europe?) but a new process is always nerve-wracking.

As far as hotels, my parents booked most of them for the whole family. I figure we'll bring a notarized affidivat from them as to this is a family trip and they will be covering most of the costs...overkill probably but better safe than sorry (and stuck at home!)

I was looking on here to start gathering ROC advice and I realized I never updated this.

He had no problem getting the visa and we had a wonderful trip - I met a bunch of his European friends, he met my German relatives and best of all, my family and his finally got to meet.

Here is what we put in our packet.

- his registration for his fall classes

-three months of bank statements showing sufficient funds

-hotel reservations for Europe, not even every night but maybe the first five

-passport, gc, etc copies

- copies of all his previous Schengen visas and copies of all his entry/exit stamps

-flight reservations for Morocco showing we were only spending half the trip in Europe

The previous visits made a big difference I think in getting him the visit. But it is possible to get a Schengen without a job as long as you show you have something to go back to (job offer, school) and have enough money in the bank.
