GC optimized before traveling to USA

I got my CR-1 visa approved back in January, I paid my green card fee last week and my status is already optimized. From what I read this means that my GC is being produced but in order of this to happen I need to enter to the USA and I won't be traveling for the first time until May 28th. Is it normal that my GC is being produced before I travel to the USA?

I'll kindly appreciate any kind of information regarding my doubt.

If it is not paid before departure for the U.S and will be paid after departure, it will delay producing a green card. If it is paid before departure for the U.S and you land in the U.S., it will be enabled by Poe officer to submit the sealed information (you hand in) to uscis and go ahead to produce green card and deliver it to your U.S. address.

It doesn't REALLY delay it if you pay soon after arrival. Besides, you have up to a year to pay it if it's an issue. I know people that waited several months to pay it because they have a temporary green card and after paying the fee got the card within 2 weeks. It's not like you don't have a green card upon arrival.
