K-1 & K-2 AOS Check Submittal Question

Hello everyone,

The AOS/EAD/AP packet for my wife (K-1) and stepdaughter (K-2) was received on the USCIS lockbox on April 27th. I know it's only been a week since USPS delivery confirmation was received but my check that I included in the amount of $1705 for my wife ($1070) + stepdaughter ($635) has not been cashed. I am wondering if there are any filers out there that included just "1 check" for K-1/K-2 AOS and all was well?

I hope to not receive the packets back in mail if USCIS prefers "2 checks" for the submittal. :(

I would appreciate any feedback?

Below is what I followed in order to just mail them the "1 check"...

(When sending payment, you can either write one check for each application or one check for them both. The benefit of writing just the one check is that if for any reason the K-2 AOS paperwork is not accepted and therefore returned, the full adjustment fee of $985 becomes payable. However, if the paperwork is not accepted and the check is for both applications, both applications will be returned and the correction to the K-2 application can be made and resubmitted for the same $600 fee)

Thank you!

K-1

I sent in one check, in the amount of $2140 ($1070@), for my wife and stepson, and had no issues. You are likely okay, now wait for the flurry of I-797 receipt notices.

Hopefully you also included the employment authorization I-765 and advance parole I-131 applications with your AOS I-485. There is no additional charge and with the prolonged AOS, many people are finding out later that they are in need of employment and/or travel authorization and the AOS is yet to be processed (check out some recent AOS progress forum threads).

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hello again Pitaya,

My wife just received text messages/emails in regards to I-797's to be forthcoming for acceptance of I-485, I-765, and I-131's that I filed for my wife (K-1) and step daughter (K-2). The check in the amount of $1705 hasn't been cashed but I am assuming that all is well and will be deducted from my account shortly. :)

Thanks again for the prompt reply!

Yep, they got their money alright. The check was cashed and deducted from my account this AM. Now we'll wait for the NOA hard copies, followed by Biometrics appointment and go from there. Patience is a virtue and all should go well god willing.

Thanks for the wishes!

Cheers. :)
