Denied incorrect check amount.

My wife and I filed for AOS, just got a denial back today because. "The check amount is incorrect, or has not been provided".

I noticed that I forgot to date my check...I'm assuming that is the problem....

However are the following amounts correct, and the total amount I should be sending?

I 130 Filing fee $420

I 485 Filing fee $1070

Amounts correct.

Check should be dated, signed, and payee spelled out "U.S. Department of Homeland Security".

Thanks, I dated the check and sent it back. Can't believe I made such a simple stupid mistake...

It came back again. Same problem. "The check amount is incorrect, or has not been provided".

This time I cannot find any problems with the checks...

Does anybody have any other ideas?

perhaps you can quote precisely what is written on the checks....

Are you able to post a copy of the check here on the thread? That way me might be better able to respond to you. Of course black out any identifying details such as account\routing# and name\address, etc.

IF and only if that's not a violation of vj TOC.

I honestly don't see anything wrong. Could it be they can't differentiate between an "m" and an "n"? Or that it's "U S" vs "U.S." if they're splitting hairs?

Can someone comment on whether one combined check works, or should be two separate checks?

This is bonkers. Try getting a money order, or a cashier's check.

Maybe they wants it to say "one thousand and seventy DOLLARS 00/100 How quick did they reject your application? I know I made a mistake on my checks and I'm just waiting for them to be sent back

First denial was 19 days. Second one was 15 days.

I would either re-write two new checks, using non cursive handwriting, or get two money orders.

I can't see any obvious problem with them!

Unless..... were they stamped when you first got them back, then you redated them and reposted them? Perhaps someone saw that stamp and rejected them??

Honestly, I'm just grasping at straws. Apparently I didn't scan my checks, otherwise I'd compare directly.

No they were 2 new checks.

I have already written an additional 2 new checks, with print handwriting, out of a new bank account...so we will see what happens this time.
