Hi all,

So what did your husbands, wives, girlfriends', boyfriends', fiance's, fiancee's, or partners get you for Valentines Day?

Were any of you blown away with a marriage proposal or a really really original and romantic present?

Also, what did you give??

I made a powerpoint of us and turned it into a quicktime movie which I mailed her on a CD. The soundtrack is the song "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Because we text message so much, the words come up like they are being texted over pictures of us together. I got to say, it even brings a tear to my eye. But she hasn't received it yet!!!!!! Maybe it will be in the mail today, although it's already the 15th in the Philippines. But she is going to like it.

This morning, our Valentine's Day started a little sour because we got stuck in a foot of snow between our driveway and our cul-de-sac. It took us 30 mins and a very kind neighbor to get us unstuck. We don't typically celebrate Valentine's Day, but we certainly didn't feel very romantic after that 'adventure' in the snow.

And because we couldn't get to work yesterday because of the winter storm in Indy, I was pretty slammed at the office all morning. When I finally found a minute to breathe, I figured I'd call the hubster to wish him a happy Valentine's Day anyway. He laughed. I asked him where he was because he sounded a little different. It was my turn to laugh when he lowered his voice to a whisper, "Er, on the potty." Strike two on romance. LOL.

The rest of my afternoon at the office went by pretty quickly. Then at 4:30, something over the top of my cube wall caught my eye. When I looked up, I saw this BIG stuffed dog looking back down at me. At first I thought it was my colleague showing me what he got for his wife, and I started asking him where he got it. When I stood up, I saw my husband grinning from ear to ear like a little kid.

In his other hand was a brand new Indianapolis Colts throw blanket, with the score of the Super Bowl printed very clearly on the tag. His own words: "What can be more romantic than getting Colts stuff for my wife?" rofl.

The nicer bit about the blanket was I had told him this morning that the office was freezing because the central heating was taking a long time to crank up. He figured I'd appreciate something warm while I worked.

Oh, he also got me two bags of Dove chocolate. :)

I love you, hubby!

Unfortunately, I didn't get him anything. But he didn't care. I am now going to snuggle with him in bed and tell him how much I love him. :)

We're celebrating Vday tomorrow, as D had work commitments all day & night long and he couldn't get out of them :(

But he did tell me that he bought us a customizable monopoly set. it's cool! check it out here we just now need to come up with all the customizable titles.

I got him a cheesy tshirt that has a clover on it & says 'let's get ready to stumble' lol

I wasn't expecting anything for Valentine's day... hubby is always hit and miss with those kind of things...

but I was pleasantly surprised when hubby came home after work with a big bouquet of flowers, a big heart balloon. a stuffed teddy bear and some coffee crisp bars (L):)

I made him his favourite dinner of meatloaf and some rice and some chocolate cake for dessert... but the little ####### had grabbed a hamburger from his dad when he went to visit his mom after work before coming home... :P so he wasn't terribly hungry :P

but he loved it anyways :)

James is working in Alabama at the moment so not much of a valentines for us this year. He did however phone me with good news for my valentines present, our first house. Got the notification our mortage is approved and at great rates as well.

We thought we would try for a loan before finding a house, so on Sunday, I am off to Birmingham and will spend next week with a real estate agent finding what we want.

He is leaving the house hunting up to me (thankfully as the best I can get out of him is "it's alright" LOL) and he is too busy with work, so the plan is too look round, narrow down to 2 houses and then show him those 2.

Im so excited! What could possibly be a better valentines than to have the opportunity to find us a house that together we will make a home!

I have a good man!

ummm I havent got him anything but Im thinking a new fridge might be nice :innocent:

Valentine's day for me was spent getting all the I-129F papers together... that is after my migrane went away. Surprisingly got a lot done. The best part was of course the phone call to my love and even though it was only 45 minutes, was the best present ever (that is besides him at my door step  ).

I made a powerpoint of us and turned it into a quicktime movie which I mailed her on a CD. The soundtrack is the song "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman.
