I sent my IV/AOS documents and I am tracking the paket, and it says "Delivery attempt failed 05-02". Should I assume it's because it was Saturday yesterday and no one was working, perhaps they receive them by signing? I used the Swedish postal office and I don't know if they sent it off to DHL in the U.S or not. It doesn't say. Confused. The address is correct, so I can't see why it would fail.

~~moved to progress reports from process and procedures~~

There is no one working at the NVC on Saturday or Sunday. Many federal employees do not work on the weekends. The USPS (to whom your package would have ended up with) does work on Saturdays however. They will attempt to deliver it on Monday again.

Thanks for confirming :) Would that then be my scan date or is that when they open it to review, in about 45 days?

Your scan date is when they actually scan it into the system, which may or may not (most likely not) be the day they receive it.

Ok, I see.... so how can I find out when they scan it, preferably without calling them?

Nope. To be honest when they scanned it wasn't a big issue for me so I didn't bother, but many people like to be on top of every change in their case. If you don't want to, you don't have to, and count about 45 days from the day they receive, give or take a week. I think reviews are taking about 30 days so adding the 15 anyhow, is giving yourself wiggle room. :)

Brewlin, it happened to me as well when tracking my package through posten.se and don't worry it's still on its way. Enter your tracking number at usps.com instead and you will see it again. Swedish post sucks!

Thank you ESGW :) I look forward to live in a country again that actually has a postal service. I'm still in awe and shock every-time I need to pick up or send a package at the kiosk, while other people are standing in line behind me, trying to buy a packet of cigarettes or a chocolate bar. Feel sorry for the people working at these places.

Wow, I can't believe USPS actually had all that info with my Swedish tracking number! Look at that! Plenty of information. It says clearly there that it's held at the Porthsmouth postal office since the NVC was closed.
