My wife is from the Philippines. Her sister there in Phils., has a "personally owned company" here in the USA who wishes to bring her here on a work visa.

This is something, where I am lost, as I can talk a little about K-1's, but a work visa from the Philippines, is another thing.

IF,..,., it is possible, approximately how long does it take to get a work visa approved, after the petition is filed? What is the name of the visa, for work here in the USA?

Any and all comments are welcomed, as we are really lost about this subject.

Insufficient information, there are many visas that could apply.

Normal practice is for this to be handled by the Company Immigration Lawyer.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Boiler, Insignificant remarks could be kept to yourself, if you cannot help, then just let it go!

The Filipino, wanting the work visa, is a graduate of a college specializing in "culinary arts" and the Filipino wanting to bring her here, needs a cook, someone that speaks dialects from the Phils., and has to ability to care for his wife's needs that runs the company, here in South Carolina.

The company is willing to file, pay all expenses, and since ""ALL companies" are not privy to an immigration attorney, hire one if necessary.

I only asked for "General information".,.,.,how long can this process take, a year, 2.,.,.6 months.,.,, it was a simple question, and required only a simple response, IN General.

There is no in general, in this case assuming the job requires someone holding a degree and the person has the degree which may be the case here then you are looking at a H1b.

Apply 1st April for a 1st October start, has been heavily subscribed in recent years and ended in a lottery. I think this year there was nearly 3 x as many applicants as visa's.
