Hello, I have a few questions about the I-129F, that I hope you can help me with.

I am gathering the necessary items to include in my I-129F forms, and I have found many websites that state that a copy of the foreign fiance's passport and airplane ticket stubs should be included. How necessary are these two items? I would like to have these forms turned in as soon as possible, and I may not be able to get these items from my fiance before I turn them in. Are they necessary? Which other things should I include as proof of the relationship/that we have met? Do you think a "history" of my skype calls would work? (we use skype mainly to communicate)

My other question is about the G-325A forms. Many of the fields were not large enough (I filled them out on the computer) and for the Country on some fields (I put "United States of America") would not fit, and there is a tiny "+" sign at the end...

Also, when I enter "N/A" for the "year" fields, "0000" shows up instead. The computer does this automatically. Will this be a problem when I submit my forms? They appear on my fiance's forms also, and it will be difficult to have new forms completed and signed by her.

Will these issues pose a major problem for my forms? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'll take a stab at them. :)

I don't see a passport on the list, but I included a photocopy of the inside of mine. There was a thread about that recently, but I can't find it now. :(

Airline ticket stubs aren't a specific requirement. What you do need is evidence of having met in the past 2 years. Airline ticket stubs can be used along with the plane ticket or itinerary for part of the evidence. From reading a lot of posts here, my impression is that they want a lot of evidence for each trip, not just one or two pieces. Other examples of evidence you can use:

- Hotel receipts

- Car rental receipts

- ATM withdrawal slips

- Store purchase receipts (if your name or credit card number is on them)

There are longer lists somewhere. Keep in mind that you need to prove that both of you were at the same place at the same time. If one of you was visiting the other person in his/her hometown, the person whose home it was needs to prove that s/he was in that city at the same time that the other person was.

Which other things should I include as proof of the relationship/that we have met? Do you think a "history" of my skype calls would work? (we use skype mainly to communicate)

That can help show your relationship, but it doesn't show evidence of having met in person.

My other question is about the G-325A forms. Many of the fields were not large enough (I filled them out on the computer) and for the Country on some fields (I put "United States of America") would not fit, and there is a tiny "+" sign at the end...

That didn't happen for me. My suggestions: (a) type in "US" or "USA" for the country, and ( b ) handwrite "N/A" where necessary. They're picky about having "N/A" where you need it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips, a couple of other things...

We have met in person, but it was not through several trips to one anothers country, we attended the same school (until she finished and moved back to Japan) So she only took one trip to the United States, and there isn't a whole lot of "Proof" like ticket stubs that we met. We have transcripts proving we were at the same school at teh same time, and photographs of us together too... however we have very few ticket stubs (if any) that were saved. She did make me a scrapbook before she went back to Japan, and I photocopies a few of the pages from it. Do you think that would be good evidence that we were together? (the scrapbook has pictures of us, and a few tickets).

Also about the G-125A forms, i'm starting to stress out about a bit... for the "year" fields it automatically put "0000" do you know if it's ok if I use white out on those spots, and then use a pen to block print "N/A" in those spots?

Thank sooo much for your help.

I find these forums very useful, I wish I would have found them sooner.

Good proof is in her passport... in the form of entrance/exit stamps

any other suggestions for proof, if copies of the passport are not available?

thanks!

If you don't mind me asking the obvious question.... but why not?

YMMV

To be honest, its tougher than it sounds to prove that you and your fiance lived in the same vicinity or at the same address for any amount of time. Heres just a couple ideas but i really don't know that they are more viable or convincing than having her make copies of air stubs and her passport.

If she lived in an apartment in the US you can see if the the leasing kept any records of that, if she lived in a dorm you can check with student res.

Copy of the student visa she used

Transcripts are probably your best evidence

If you don't mind me asking the obvious question.... but why not?

Because my fiance is being very impatient, and she wants me to turn in these forms as soon as possible... :(

I'm talking to her right now, and trying to convince her to scan me copies of her passport, which she finally agreed to do... but it's a hassle for her because she has to take a train to the nearest city.

do you know if white out is ok to use on the G-125A forms?

thanks!

This is a long and arduous process... patience will be required!!!!

I do not know a definitive answer on white out but others have done it.

YMMV

If you turn in incomplete forms, it will delay your entire process & possibly get you an RFE. Trust me, when we seasoned VJers recommend sending a complete packet.

You def. need her passport copies. Do you have her BC(translated too) as well?

I would suggest avoiding the white out. I would draw a line through the 0000, initial it and then write in the N/A
