K-1 Visa Packet 3??

I received my NOA2 in the mail March 30th it says it was approved on March 25th. I have called as of Monday April 6th to the National Visa Center to see if they have received my case # but unfortunatly they have'nt. I want to speed up the process by being prepared what comes after this? What exactly is packet 3? Is it just he Ds-160 form and the payment for that?(I know I need the case number to fill it out) The affilidate of support application Form I-134 and the payment for the visa? what else? What does packet 4 contain as well, is it just the list of things to take to the interview?

Packet 3 will be a letter saying your case has been recieved and to prepare documents for the interview and to schedule your medical once you have you case number.

Once you have your medical date you can fill in the online DS and then you will recieve your interview letter.

So does that mean that so called "packet 4" is just receiving your interview letter? Does the interview letter contain the date of the interview? I thought you would be able to set it up yourself? I wanted/ planing to schedule the medical 2 days before the actual interview, since we both want to attend the interview.

Yup, I'm not quite sure why they were called packets, I guess they used to be bigger than a letter.

Some embassy's set up the interview some don't.

For instance London sets our interview and send us a letter with the date.

I'm not sure what Mexico does.

Scheduling the medical so close to the interview is fine but it does take a few days for the medical to be completed and then sent and sorted by the embassy (this can take up to a week) and therefore they won't approve you until they have the results.

So keep that in mind.

Edit- a quick Google states you probably can set both up yourself.

I'm at the same stage as Jorge & Cindy and wasnt sure if I need to initiate some steps or wait.

I got the NVC letter dated March 23 it says two things

1) NVC will forward case to Consulate who will contact the fiancee when they are ready to process the petition

2) Next steps is go to website http://nvc.state.gov/k1to learn how to apply for K visa and prepare for visa interview

Going to #2 it says that fiancee should fill out

a) DS-160 online

b) get Medical Exam

c) get police clearance

d) and follow steps by the designated consulate office (mine says to fill out DS-160 and pay fee and schedule interview)

Like you, I only understood this yesterday/today.

Had I understood this on March 23 when I received the letter, I would not have had a timelapse of 2 weeks - spilt milk

That's what I understand and plan on executing to.

Any guidance is appreciated

Thank you so much guys it's a bit clearer of where to go from here. Jorge is getting his passport this upcoming week along with the police certificate, so that when we are able to get our NVC case number we can seed up the process...... well our side of it lol
