My husband has his biometrics appointment tomorrow for EAD. We had requested an expedite due to my medical issues and me being out of work temporarily because of my illness. They sent a letter stating that the expedite was put on hold until he did the biometrics. Is it gonna be a waste of effort and time to expedite seeing that it usually takes 4-6 weeks to get the EAD card after biometrics appointment? Or will it really speed up the process? I'm very sick and am worried about the stress it will put on me to gather documents to support expedite. Yet again we need his income.

Did you have to use a sponsor because you knew you would be out of work and not earning?

That could be a reason to deny an expedite.

But there would be no harm in trying if you can prove legitimate hardship.

From what you've said anyway, you've already requested an expedite which won't be processed until he does his biometrics,so doing a new one won't make any sense?

Also it shouldn't be stressful gathering expedite docs (already sounds like you have) and your husband can gather them considering he's not doing anything anyway.

To save time he could start sending out cvs, and just mentioning on them that he is unable to work until his EAD arrives, might save some time.
