Comments : My petition for beneficiary got caught up in a back log at TSC and after 5 months was finally passed with thousands of others on to CSC for processing. He never received an appointment letter for interview and was told to schedule his own appointment and bring the confirmation with him to interview.

We were allowed to schedule our own appointment for interview. Embassy instructions were basic and very vague so even though the iv site itself said not to proceed in scheduling without an appointment letter, I did so anyway. I was correct to go ahead with scheduling after all. They should be more helpful and clear in regards to conflicting instructions during process.

Port of Entry : Atlanta
POE Date : 2014-12-30
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : 5 hour layover in ATL and still placed on standby list for connecting flight.
Anyway, he made the flight. He said it only took 20 minutes to clear the immigration tripod in ATL. They only asked his name and his purpose of entering and sent him on his way.

It is well. ...... with our souls

Comments : We were pleasantly surprised to be approved for his Green card I-485 without an interview in only 6 months after filing the package. We got a letter in July that stated we may receive a waiver of interview process but I still thought they would ask for it later. What a relief that this process is over for now. We are blessed!

Green Card Received : 2020-10-17
Comments : Filed along with I-912 Request for Fee Waiver. Package was sent by Priority mail USPS no signature required on 08-07-2017 and was accepted less than 24 hours later. We got the letter of extension and fee waiver approval all in one, exactly 2 weeks after I mailed it, on 08-21-2017. Biometrics appointment and interview deemed unnecessary.
**Update August 10, 2018: received an additional 6 month extension (18 month extension letter) via USPS.
**Update: after considering filing a writ of Mandamus because of the lengthy wait, we had a 2nd info pass appointment for the 2nd passport stamp. A couple weeks later, an immigration officer called my wife to ask if we were still married and she answered yes. She said she is marking an approval on the lifting of conditions and is ordering the 10 year green card. Finally!! After almost 3 years of filing the 751!

UPDATE 10/2020: No green card has been produced up to this date. Received 2 different approval notices with 2 different dates almost 7 months apart. Case was transferred instead of printing greencard.
October 16, 2020 received an email that his GC was picked up by the USPS on 10/15/2020. Finally! GC delivered on 10/17/20

Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 13, 2014
Embassy Review : My fiancè arrived and was processed in. He was told he would not receive the official packet 4 (appointment letter) but just to bring the confirmation registration page and he had no problem at all getting in. A lady called him up and asked for documents (police certificate, impediment to marriage, medical exam package, passport photos, passport) and asked for my I-134. I had a joint sponsor and he did not hand that in in the confusion of them only asking for mine. They told him to take a seat and wait for his name to be called again. He waited and was listening to other people interview. He said there were some people who was overly dramatic during their interviews and he couldn't help but laugh.

The blond lady called him up and he interviewed with her. He said she asked what is your fiancee's name. How many kids does your fiancee have? Have you met them? (No) Have you spoken with them? (Yes) Do her kids live with her? How did you meet? Why did you choose her and not her sister? Where does she work? What kind of work does she do? Does she like her job? Have you set a date to be married? When is the last time she visited you? Before the last visit when did she come to Jamaica to see you?

She asked if he registered with DHL, took his phone number and handed him information about spousal abuse. And asked if he had any questions. He asked her if she needed any more documentation or proof of relationship. She said no she has everything she needs. Thank you have a nice day and he left....

She didnt ask for photos, chat logs, phone bills, nothing! But I had sent in several photos with the original petition and also all travel itineraries and boarding passes. She didnt say he was approved and he didn't ask if he was approved. So I hope that he was actually approved! Lol!

I had a joint sponsor because even though my children don't live with me, they live with my ex husband, I claim them on my taxes so I didnt quite make the income requirements. So I'm kind of worried that he didnt hand over the joint sponsor papers. But maybe because he answered that they dont live with me that was enough? I hope.....
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Atlanta
Event Description
Entry Date : 2014-12-30
Embassy Review : He worked his way to immigration lines and asked the first lady who was directing the crowds where to go for k-1 visa. She directed him to foreigners line. As he approached he told another lady he had a k-1 visa and she pointed him in the direction of the tripod area. He was approached by an immigration officer and asked what kind of visa and asked for his papers. My fiancè handed him the papers and directed him to have a seat. 5 minutes later a different officer called him to a desk and asked him the couple of questions and took fingerprints. He said it was very easy. His flight landed around noon and he expected it to be busier. He said they weren't very friendly but he didn't get a hassle
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
